Here at The Bridge Hot Yoga, our mission is simple:

We promise to support you on your journey towards health and wellbeing.

The foundation for our yoga programming is firmly rooted in the traditional style of Bikram Hot Yoga, which we call Classic Hot Yoga. This style of Yoga is for all shapes, all sizes, all ages, and for people from all walks of life. The Classic Hot Yoga sequence of postures provides new practitioners with a safe, strong and solid foundation to spring forward from.

At The Bridge Hot Yoga, we also offer Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Sculpt and other movement modalities. As our community grows we look forward to offering additional styles of yoga and movement arts.

Classic Hot Yoga

Classic Hot Yoga (also known as Bikram Yoga or 26/2) is a series of 26 hatha yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises performed in a heated room. Each of the 26 postures has a therapeutic purpose and there is an endless list of mental and physical health benefits. The temperature is 105 degrees, with 40% humidity.

Traditionally, the Classic Hot Yoga class is 90 minutes long. At The Bridge Hot Yoga, we also offer 60 and 75 minutes versions.

This class is for all levels. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to come!

Ashtanga Yoga

Like the Classic Hot Yoga series, Ashtanga Yoga is a specific set of yoga postures performed in the same sequential order every class. Ashtanga Yoga incorporates Sun Salutations, Standing and Seated Postures (including forward folding, backbends and spine twists). One by one, postures are practiced with linking movements called vinyasa. Breathing is choreographed into the movements and postures- helping practitioners internally warm the body and increase blood circulation.

The Ashtanga Yoga class is performed in a heated room set to 105 degrees with 40% humidity. Ashtanga- Full Led Primary is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Ashtanga- Half Led Primary is 1 hour. All levels welcome.

Vinyasa Variety Flow

When you come to Vinyasa Variety Flow classes, expect to redefine your own personal limitations and break through illusory walls! Expect high energy, a positive atmosphere, a rigorous flow, funky transitions, arm balances, and inversions that will nourish your soul.

There will be music. The room is warm- about 80 degrees- so expect to break a sweat and to smile a lot.

The Vinyasa Variety Flow class is 75 minutes long and open to all levels.

Vinyasa Restore and Release Flow

Vinyasa Restore & Release Flow is a classic Vinyasa series curated to help you surrender to the flow. You’ll go deep into the breath and fascia for that sweet relief from tension in the body. Vinyasa Restore & Release Flow is for every body. It's an easy-to-follow sequence meant for all levels. Give yourself the gift of 75 minutes to leave it all on the mat. Your body will thank you.

The room will be heated 95-100 degrees.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a more passive yoga practice with a focus on opening deeper connective tissues like tendons, fascia, and ligaments.  In Yin class, props like blocks, bolsters and blankets are used.  You can expect to hold postures for an extended period of time (3-7 minutes). This allows the deeper, less flexible tissues in your body the time to open and stretch. Yin yoga is likely to improve your overall flexibility and range of motion.

This intimate practice encourages yogis to connect with their physical self, emotions, and sensations.

This class is for all levels.  Modifications are offered when needed.  Students can bring their own props, but we also have them available in-studio. The room will be mildly heated at 75-80 degrees.

Sculpt

Sculpt is for those who want a full body workout in 60 minutes. The class is high intensity and low impact - it is designed to strengthen muscles without the pounding of high impact workouts. You can expect repetitions of various Pilates core and back strengthening exercises alongside a variety of squats, lunges, and mountain climbers. The room is heated and there is a cardio component to this class, so you can expect to sweat a lot.

The room is heated to 95 degrees with added humidity.

All levels are welcome and modifications are offered when needed.

Kaitlin McKendrick, Owner- Classic Hot Yoga & Yin Yoga

In September 2009, Kaitlin placed her yoga mat down and hid in the last row of a packed class at a Bikram Yoga studio in NYC. She fell out of every posture and though the class was challenging, the positive effects of the practice were felt almost immediately after class. She was hooked and has been practicing the Classic Hot Yoga (Bikram) sequence regularly for more than a decade.

For Kaitlin, hot yoga has been a valuable tool in managing stress and anxiety. She wanted to share this healing practice with others and went to Los Angeles in the spring of 2012 to attend Bikram Yoga College of India Teacher Training. Kaitlin has been sharing the Classic Hot Yoga sequence since 2012 and has taught with studios throughout the Philadelphia area, New Jersey, and New York City.

In addition to hot yoga, Kaitlin is a Yin Yoga practitioner and finds the Yin practice a beautiful complement to the very yang Classic Hot class. Kaitlin received her certification (50 RYT) to teach Yin Yoga in 2023. She studied under Maura Manzo through Our Yoga Home in Conshohocken, PA.

Aside from yoga, Kaitlin is professionally trained as an actor and singer. She graduated from The Neighborhood Playhouse in 2016.

As a Narberth resident, she is thrilled to bring hot yoga to her neighborhood. Come join Kaitlin for class at the best little hot yoga spot on the Main Line!
